Your welding engineer.
On retainer.
For CWB Division 2 and 3 fabricators. Welding engineer retiring, or moving up to Division 2? Retain ours instead of hiring one full-time. Kevin Cousins, P.Eng., our CWB-approved welding engineer, writes and approves your procedures in your company's name, each with a weld card your welders use at the station. And we never bid against you on a job you bring us.

SEE IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT
Built for the station.
Not the binder.
A binder in the office doesn't help the welder running a vertical-up CJP. Every procedure we write comes with a weld card: the welder picks the weld size, then the position, and the card shows what they need for that joint.

-
Colour-coded pass-by-pass bead diagram.
-
Current, voltage, wire feed and travel speed for every pass.
-
Minimum preheat for the steel and thickness being welded.
-
Fit-up drawing with dimensions and tolerances.
-
A QR code on every card that opens the current revision.
PUBLIC SAMPLE CARDS
Note: Sample weld cards are open to anyone. Full data sheets are issued to clients on request.

HOW THE CATALOGUE WORKS
Procedures as data,
not documents.
Most shops keep a procedure in more than one place: the data sheet on file, a copy in the binder, notes at the station. We keep each procedure as one record, and software builds the data sheet, the weld card and the catalogue entry from it, so they always match.
THE SOURCE
One engineered record
Joint geometry
Process
Positions
Thickness range
Pass parameters
FOR THE AUDITOR
Welding Procedure Data Sheet
Prepared for CWB acceptance and audit.
FOR THE WELDER
Weld card
Pass by pass, for the exact size and position, used at the station.
FOR THE WHOLE SHOP
Catalogue entry
Searchable by process, joint, geometry, and position.
WHY FABRICATORS USE IT
Built for the problems your QC manager already has.
Each part of the system is designed to pass an audit, prevent a reject, or save a call to the engineer. Start with the one that costs you the most.

CWB AUDITS
Data sheets that match the floor
Every data sheet is built from the same record as the weld card and run through automated checks based on the CWB guide before it goes in. When the auditor compares the data sheet on file with what the welder is doing, they say the same thing.
NEW WORK
No blank forms for new joints
You've won the job and a joint on the drawings has no procedure. Instead of a blank form and a wait, the work starts from our master procedure for that CSA W59 prequalified joint.
REBAR
No W186, no welded rebar splices
Welded rebar splices need a shop certified to CSA W186, and most fabricators aren't. Our shop is. We can weld them for you, or act as welding engineer for your own W186 certification.
CODE LIMITS
Code rules built in
Preheat for the steel and thickness, maximum single-pass sizes, pass area and position limits are calculated from the record every time, so they never depend on someone remembering a table.

HOW IT WORKS
From your shop to the welder's hands.
STEP 1
Tell us how your shop welds
A short call or the form below: your CWB division, processes, consumables, positions and the joints on your current work. Send your existing data sheets if you have them.
STEP 2
We write the procedures
We match your work to our master procedures and write anything that isn't standard. If a joint needs a qualification test, we plan it with you first. The engineer reviews and approves every procedure.
STEP 3
You get data sheets and weld cards
Data sheets in your company's name, ready to submit to CWB under your certification, and weld cards for the floor, built from the same record. Each printed card carries a QR code that opens the current revision.

ENGINEERING PACKS
One firm for the
work around your welds.
Weld engineering is the core. Add the work your shop would otherwise send to three different firms, from one engineering team.
Weld engineering
Procedures, data sheets, weld cards, and a CWB-approved welding engineer for your certification.
Connection design
Connection design by our structural engineers, with weld procedures to match.
3D scanning
Scan existing steel so new pieces are detailed to what's actually there.
Tekla detailing
Tekla Structures models and shop drawings for fabrication and erection.
Site layout
Anchor bolts, embeds and column bases laid out from the model with a robotic total station.
