Engineered from reality.
Not assumption.
The drawings say “by contractor's engineer”. We're that engineer: temporary works, connections and repairs, designed in-house. On existing buildings we scan first and design to the structure as it stands.

TEMPORARY WORKS
Temporary works, designed like permanent work.
Shoring designed to old drawings shows its problems on site. We design from our own scan, with the rigour of permanent work and the tolerances you'll actually get in the field.
Hydraulic jacking
Multi-point load transfer, jacking plans, and unloading procedures for column repair and replacement in occupied buildings.
Crane, hoist and MEWP bases
Bases, mats and grillages for cranes, hoists and MEWPs, checked against the capacity of the existing slab.
Formwork and falsework
Vertical and horizontal systems, including jump and climbing forms, flying tables and complex geometry.
Structural interventions
Column and wall load bypasses, needle beams, new openings, partial demolition and local strengthening.
Shoring and reshoring
Slabs, beams, transfer elements, and podium decks, including multi-level shoring down to the foundations.
Peer review
Independent checks of proprietary and contractor-proposed schemes, with constructability input.

HOW WE ENGINEER
Built to be checked, built to fit.
Designed on the real geometry
Existing conditions come from our own laser scans, so the design fits the structure as built and fit-up risk drops before anything is fabricated.
The scan opens in a browser
Site teams open our scan of the structure in any web browser, with no software to install, and check dimensions against the drawings.
Calculations a reviewer can follow
Clear, referenced calculation packages that a consultant, building official or peer reviewer can follow and check.
The engineer stays on it
The engineer responsible for the design answers the RFIs, checks the shop drawings against it and comes to site when it matters.
STEEL CONNECTION DESIGN
Connection design that keeps your detailers working.
On many steel jobs the fabricator's engineer designs the connections. We take on that role in-house, and when your shop needs them, we write the welding procedures to match. We never bid against you on a job you bring us.

SHEAR
Shear connections
Single plates, double angles, end plates, and seated connections.
MOMENT
Moment connections
Flange plates, extended end plates and directly welded flanges, with column stiffeners and doublers where the columns need them.
BRACING
Bracing connections
Gusset plates for HSS, angle and W-shape braces, including chevron and knee-brace details.
COLUMNS
Splices and base plates
Column splices, base plates, anchor rods, and shear lugs.
HSS
HSS, trusses and canopies
Branch-to-chord joints, truss connections, canopies, and miscellaneous framing.
EXISTING STRUCTURES
Connections to what's already there
New steel into existing concrete, masonry, timber or steel, designed on scanned geometry instead of old drawings.

THE CONNECTION CATALOGUE
Pick it from the catalogue. We check it.
Routine connections are already engineered. Your detailer places a catalogue connection in the model, and we check it against the job's forces and design anything outside its range.
STEP 1
Your drafter picks a connection
Each catalogue connection has a set geometry, bolt pattern, and weld, and a known range of members it fits.
STEP 2
Tekla places it in the model
The matching custom component drops in the plates, bolts, and welds, already set to the catalogue design.
STEP 3
We check it against your job
We check each connection against the job's forces and geometry, and design anything outside the catalogue.
STEP 4
The shop gets the weld card
Each weld calls up a welding procedure, and its weld card goes to the welder.
Detailing moves faster
Drafters place pre-engineered components for routine connections instead of waiting on a custom detail for each one.
The shop sees the same details
Standard connections your fitters and welders recognize, job after job, with fewer one-off details to get wrong.
Review moves faster
Catalogue connections are already engineered, so our review checks them against your forces instead of starting from a blank page.
Connection and weld match
The connection catalogue and the weld procedure catalogue are built together, so the weld on the calc is the weld on the card.

FORENSICS AND EXPERT SUPPORT
Find out what actually happened.
Evidence-based investigation of failures, defects and deterioration, led by a senior engineer with more than fifty years of forensic and expert witness practice.
Collapse analysis: overload, unintended load paths, sequencing errors and progressive collapse in slabs, trusses, and transfer elements.
Construction defects and material failure: capacity back-checks with in-place geometry and properties, separating design, construction and in-service causes.
Claims and disputes: site investigation and reports for insurers, adjusters and legal counsel.
Expert testimony: independent opinions on causation and standard of care, file reviews, expert reports, and support through mediation and arbitration.
Before you call.
